Being too cheap to buy a new mattress, I picked this up when it was on sale, and couldn’t be happier with it. I’d been wary of trying memory foam, given the wide variety of complaints about them (too small, smells bad, too hot, etc.), but now I wish I had given in sooner. This fits perfectly, lost its weird odor in about two days, and is cooler than just my unpadded mattress. And, while it doesn’t make my mattress seem comfy enough to be brand new, its more than comfy enough to put off buying a new one a while longer.

This foam topper is 8 pounds out of the box which puts the density at 3 pounds per cubic food. This is the way one measures the quality of foam toppers. The previous one that I bought from eBay (and am in the process of returning) was a cheap 1.5 pounds per cubic foot which is on the low end. To find the density, multiply the dimensions (e.g. 30×72x2 and divide by 12, 3 times) and then divide the weight by this number. 8 pounds in this case. The high end is around 5 pounds per cubic foot.

You will find that sleeping on foams of different densities feels rough;y the same. The difference is in how long they last, the higher the density, the longer they will last.

First of all, sleeping on high quality memory foam is a dream. Perfect amount of support on anything you put on it. I put a 2″ toppper on an 8 year old futon that you could feel the frame under it and it was like sleeping on my parents 00 bed.

*Two Things* you have to know, density is everything. 3lb is cheap, 4lb is average and 5lb is premium. 2lb has no ‘memory’ to it thus very little support. Easy to push in and it basically comes back out instantly.

Second is…IT AGES. I’m on my second Serta 4lb topper and both were awesome until about 8 months before I noticed that there’s less and less ‘memory’. At 11 months, it feels like 2lb foam that doesn’t provide a lot of support but rather foam you would think you’d pack stuff with. I compared areas that would be compressed often and the most to unused corners (near the feet) and there was some but very little difference. So it seems use isn’t the factor but rather age. I stuck a glass object on it and measured the depth it sank and was going to measure the time it took to sink but it was basically instantaneous compared to when it was new when it would sink like somebody in quicksand (can you tell I’m an engineer…).

So memory foam…Awesome…but has a shelf life. Something to keep in mind when considering to go foam. I don’t know if the mattresses have the same issue but if I had to guess, they would probably be less affected.

I’m writing this review from my bed which I now find to be so comfortable, I don’t want to get up.

I originally bought this to put on a hard futon that guests sleep on.

But I found it to be so comfortable that I’m using it on my bed now.

It arrived compressed and needed about 24 hours to expand to its full size.

Even at its full size, it is a 1-2″ smaller than my queen size mattress.

I think this is on purpose so that your fitted sheets will still fit.

It did smell a little but that went away in a few days.

I recommend airing it out in the garage or on a patio.

I have been using it for a month now and I has definitely improved my sleep.

I used to toss and turn a lot more. I would wake up in the middle of the night and find my arm was numb.

Now the bed conforms to me and I feel less pressure points. My wife also feels she gets better quality sleep on this mattress and doesn’t feel as achy when she wakes up.

I found this mattress for my mother. The mattress is identical to more expensive memory foam beds and it is at a great price. These are simply the most comfortable type of beds that are sold. After purchasing it, I bought a memory foam topper for my own spring bed; memory foam is so much better than spring mattresses.

As far as the smell goes, the bed that we received had absolutely no smell whatsoever. Not even a faint odor.

After years on spring mattresses, individually wrapped coil mattresses, plush pillow tops, etc & never being totally satisfied, I decided to hop on the memory foam wagon. I was skeptical at first, so I researched the Foamex Company & found nothing but stellar reviews for their products. And they’re eco-friendly, such a big plus. After about a month of using this mattress, I just love it & am so happy with it. It’s incredibly comfortable & supportive (& affordable!). I cannot recommend this product enough & plan on buying more from the Foamex Company, eventually upgrading to a thicker mattress. Sleep well.

I read reviews for the same sleepshop mattress without the dual air flow. This one has two eggcrate pieces of foam to form the base. Not sure if it makes much difference but I heard the Tempurpedic design is similar and for 3 bucks more I figured what the heck. It has a mattress cover which can be unzipped and washed. I have never slept on a memory foam mattress but I must say that I like it alot. When you first lie down on the mattress it feels a bit firm but when the foam begins to conform that is when it feels great giving even support throughout your body. If you move a lot during sleep it takes getting used to the bumps caused by your former position until the foam comforms to your new position. There is a chemical smell but it needs some time to air out. I dont feel it is that noticeable unless I stick my face in the mattress. Shipping was good. It came by Fedex and I received a tracking number. Ordered it on 7/9 and received it on 7/14. I cannot imagine a tempurpedic being that much better especially with a 1500 dollar increase in price.

I like it. My wife and I decided to get a new mattress. I had originally intended to get a standard Box Spring set and was a bit surprised at how much a new set costs. I also sleep face down and often have a sore back. I did some inter-net reading on Memory Foam and then went by a local shop, which will give you a minimal introduction. Clearly one really needs to spend the night on one to get a real idea, it was hard but not objectionable at the store. I was able to tell that I liked the ten inch more than the seven inch, seems like the thickness gives a softer impression, at least at first. Cut to the chase, I purchased this one. I placed my order online with Amazon Sunday and went with this 12″ thick mattress (more is better). Monday I got tracking information with FedX and was able to follow it. I work the overnight shift and at 3 a.m. Thursday it was noted to be in town and on a truck for delivery, came about 9:30 to my door. I was able to carry it upstairs myself as it’s “rolled” and compressed. It is heavy close to 100 pounds so just be aware but a strong healthy person can get it up on a shoulder for a short carry. I decided to just throw it on my box spring even though I was a bit afraid of the height as it would be 4 inches higher than the bed now. You have to be careful removing the wrap but it is not difficult. The mattress un-rolls and starts to “inflate” it does have a smell for sure. We had an anti-allergy cover on our old bed so I put the mattress in there. We have a dual control heated pad that went on next and used a little Febreze, next a very thin cheap mattress pad just to cover my wifes heat system and sheets. The bed set-up is high this way but it looks good on our bed frame. If it looked odd I was going to dump the box springs and just put a platform on the frame but my wife likes the look, so I think I’m done. Most importantly it is a big hit with the cats. Last night was the first to sleep on the bed and bottom line, very comfortable! No back pain in the morning for me and I really don’t think it will take anytime for me to adjust, actually I would say I’m well adjusted. I’m sure that one really needs to use it a month to give a valid review so take what I say on comfort with a grain of salt but day one my back is happy. However, on price, delivery, initial reaction and comfort I’m very impressed. For those with a sensitive nose the anti-allergy bag and a bit of FeBreze seem to cure that 98% even on day one.

I came back to give an up-date as a few weeks has gone by but I see (at least now) it is unavailable? The mattress is very nice, going on 3 weeks and we have no complaints. The bed is very comfortable and isolates movements or I should say the preception of the “other” persons movements. One does not seem to toss and turn as much and I for one have less back pain. Last week my wife hurt her back so the mattress is not an “instant” cure. She does feel that the mattress is a help but clearly her back is bothering her since she hurt it. One does not “sink” as deep as I thought but it clearly conforms to the body. Mind you, our small cat (9 pounds) barley makes a dent but he is also very fond of the bed. For a “face-down” sleeper it’s very nice. I don’t think it would be fair to compare it to my old spring mattress as that one was over 10 years old and surely not a top of the line model. As other have said not sure if the “Dual Air Flow” makes any difference but both my wife and I a very pleased. At this point, I’d say I’m a “Memory Foam” kind-o-guy. It’s a bit odd to sit on the edge, like to put on shoes as one really sinks in but with our setup it’s a bit high for that anyway. I don’t know why it’s unavailable but if one is interested in this type of bed this one is very comfortable and we have been pleased with the price, speed of delivery and the apparent quality of the product. I’ll stop by in 10 or 20 years and let ya’ll know how it holds up!

This is a fantastic mattress. We’ve used one for 3 years with our oldest and now that a sibling is on the way, we’ll be buying a new one for that child too. (we’d use the original but Oldest is still loving the toddler bed and doesn’t want to move out of it). The mattress fits very snuggly and has held up to two moves, lots of middle of the night changes and a wide variety of “ick” ) The only sign of wear after three years is that the corners look a little mashed on top from all the sheet changes. The only cavet is that you have to buy a good quality sheet (like Carters) because the mattress is a little thicker than most. I tore through two cheaper brand sheets cuz they weren’t made to fit a mattress this thick.

I have a Sealy mattress, which is a great mattress. It just has rounded corners & I could get my whole hand in between the crib & mattress. So, I looked for a mattress with square corners & found this one. It’s a REALLY hard mattress, but she sleeps through the night & it fits snugly in the crib, so I think it was well worth it. I can’t even get a finger between the crib & mattress, and yet it’s still easy to get in & out for sheet changing. Anyway, great mattress!

My wife and I decided to buy this mattress when it was on sale for a little over 0. BEST decision we ever made! The mattress arrived immediately, rolled up in a blue tarp. I had to roll it out and let the foam expand, and within the hour, the mattress was ready to be used. The manufacturer suggests that you wait a few days before using it, but I couldn’t wait. My wife and I were sleeping on it that same night.

We received two free pillows with the mattress. The pillows are a bit too slim, so our two kids use them. They’re the perfect size for my 3 and 7 year old. I definitely have fallen in love with this mattress. I may sound like an infomercial when I say this BUT my back pains have disappeared once I started sleeping on this foam mattress. The size is perfect for my wife and I. I DEFINITELY recommend this product to everyone out there!

This gets you additionally two pillows with your mattress for 30 dollars more. Overall good value

The mattress is excellent, arrives rolled up and really needs to be aired out for a week before it can be used. It is comfortable to sleep on, though honestly it’s still just a mattress. The feel is obviously different from a spring mattress, but you get used to it quickly. It is good value for money, though I’m not certain of its durability.

The pillows may not be for everyone. I was bunching up my pillow so it would support my neck, so this memory foam pillow works well for me and was worth the extra 30 dollars. If you’re happy with your current pillow, don’t bother. But this pillow completely got rid of my neck pain and is great for both sleeping on your side on stomach/back. They are cheaper than buying two memory foams separately, but they are half the size of a regular pillow.

We just received our new mattress three days ago. I was a bit skeptical because I was buying a mattress over the internet that I’d never even felt. I was even more skiptical when I saw the thin rolled up mattress waiting on the patio when I got home from work. But as soon as we got it into our bedroom and peeled the many layers of plastic wrap off, it immediately began to “puff up” and look more like a regular mattress. I was expecting to smell the horrible scent many of the other reviewers were experiencing, but there was none. Maybe the manufacturers have finally caught on and pre-aired the mattreses? At any rate, I patiently waited 48 hrs before I tried the mattress out even though I’m sure it was ready the next day. The mattress felt very firm compared to our old one but you could immediatley feel it conforming to your body. I must have fallen asleep immediately, which is something that rarely ever happens except when I’m really exhausted. I woke up almost 9 hours later completely rested and I was in the same position I was in when I fell asleep. I don’t know that I didn’t switch positions throughout the night, but there was definitely none of my usual flip-flopping. There was no back pain of any kind. I usually experince a bit of stiffness and acheyness… but there was nothing. I’ll definitely be recommending this mattress to those I know shopping around for a new mattress. And as soon as we get moved into our new home, we’ll be buying another one for the guest room. I just hope they don’t get too comfortable that they’ll never want to leave.

I’ve had it for about a week now, its my first memory foam mattress, firm but comfortable. it has that chemical smell for a couple days but it goes away, it doesnt come with any instructions but basically open it up, wait a day (or a couple hours like me) for it to expand and release its smell and its an awesome night sleep. i still cant figure out who sarah peyton is or why she sells mattresses but i like her stuff. the cover is removable too which is convenient. i definitely recommend this to people on a budget with back pain, i live in Hawaii where shipping can rip a fat hole in your wallet, this was free shipping, i love you amazon! the beds cool too.
